Songfacts®:

  • The original version of this anthemic ode to all-nighters featured on Foxes' Warrior EP, which was released in May 2012. She then re-recorded the tune, sprucing up the original stripped down, piano-led production for her second single to be released from Glorious.
  • Foxes wrote the song with singer-songwriter Kid Harpoon, whose other credits include Florence + the Machine's "Shake It Out," Calvin Harris' "Sweet Nothing" and Jessie Ware's "Wildest Moments."
  • The song's music video involves Foxes and several others in a food fight. It was the singer's love of cakes the encouraged her to pitch the idea to record bosses. "I have had this idea for a music video for years," she told The Birmingham Mail. "It was a dream to go into a record company and for them to ask me what I want to do for the video. I said 'can I shoot cake out of a cannon and could you make that happen?' It was like an eight year old was in control."
