Songfacts®:

  • The second single released from Frances' debut album was written about someone very close to her. "It's my way of saying that it's my turn to be strong and brave for them now," she told Digital Spy, "just as they have been for me."
  • The heartbreaking video tells the story of a couple being separated through tragic loss. However, the clip wasn't the original idea. "We did a video before that - I was in the video," Frances told Digital Spy. "It was really beautiful and creative and everything, but I saw it and didn't really feel like it matched the emotion of the song."

"I felt like we could have had a video that really moved people as much as the song has," she continued. "So I wanted something with real people and a really emotional narrative. We sent that out to some young directors, and then this treatment came in. I read the story and I was like, 'Oh my god - this is amazing.' We tweaked it very slightly and then it was perfect."
