  • Ocean originally debuted an early draft of the song live during a Munich set in June 2013. It was subsequently immortalized through grainy fan-shot video footage.
  • The song was produced by Rostam Batmanglij, formerly of Vampire Weekend and Jamie xx, who is a member of the London-based band The xx. Rostam recalled to Billboard magazine:
