Songfacts®:

  • This song is about how the media, especially television, is trying to control your mind by reducing your brain activity to a minimum and making you very suggestible: "Your mind is totally controlled, it has been stuffed into my mold and you will do as you are told until the rights to you are sold." >>>

"...I wanted to put some back-up singers on the thing, and the road manager who was with us at the time checked into it and said, 'well, why don't you just use the Ikettes?' I said, ''I can get the Ikettes?'' and he said ''Sure''....http://frankzapppa.blogspot.com/2014/02/tina-turner-is-singing-with-frank-zappa.html
  • Natu from Addis Ababa, EthiopiaGreat song...
  • Thomas from Somerville, AlFrank was one of the most talented and knowlegable musicians of the century. His music was a fusion of Rock, Jazz, Blues and Gospel. His lyrics sometimes made no sense which is what added to his appeal. His undying conviction to not be mainstream is one of the reasons he had such an underground following. I've never heard a Frank Zappa song that was'nt full of energy and genious. Long Live Zap!!
  • Nick from Detroit, MiZappa actually played this song for one of his appearances on SNL.
  • John from Toledo, OhSinging background vocals on this are the Ikettes with Tina Turner.Ike Turner told Zappa not to pay them anymore than what he was paying them at the time, which was only about $15.00 per session.
