Songfacts®:

  • Here, Fred Again samples the vocal refrain from Obongjayar's song "I Wish It Was Me." Taken from his 2022 debut album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors, "I Wish It Was Me" is about the Nigeria-born, London-based singer's little brother.
  • Both Fred Again and Obongjayar created their contributions to "Adore U" as tributes to their younger siblings. "Obongjayar made this song for his lil brother," said the DJ/producer. "I made it for my lil sister without knowing this. So to me it's for siblings, in any way that manifests. Like, it doesn't have to be blood brothers to me."
  • Fred again co-produced "Adore You" with Four Tet, Marco Parisi and Tobias Wincorn.

Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden) is a British electronic music producer. Since his 1999 debut album, Dialogue, Four Tet has released a succession of records. His fifth album, 2010's There Is Love in You, was his most successful, reaching #35 on the UK Albums Chart.

Marco Parisi is an Italian electronic music producer. He is a regular Fred Again collaborator, contributing to nine tracks on his Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022) album.

Tobias Wincorn is an LA-based producer, who frequently collaborates with Ricky Reed, Timbaland, and Jake Sinclair. His credits include Panic At The Disco's "Say Amen (Saturday Night)" and Lizzo's "Tempo."
  • Fred Again and Obongjayar debuted "Adore You" live together during Fred Again's August 4, 2023 set at Lollapalooza 2023 in Chicago.
