Songfacts®:

  • This track finds French Montana getting autobiographical as he reflects on his days as a hustler on the Bronx streets. Pharrell Williams also raps a verse while The Kid Daytona, a young rapper from Atlanta, contributes the chorus.
  • The late-'80s-styled production comes courtesy of Harry Fraud, who has previously worked with the Bronx rapper on songs like "So High" and "Shot Caller." The Brooklyn beatmaker is a regular collaborator with Action Bronson and also worked with The Weeknd on his Kiss Land track "Professional."
  • The track borrows its shrieking horn instrumental from Organized Konfusion's 1994 song "Stress," which itself sampled jazz bassist Charles Mingus' "Mingus Fingus No. 2."
