Songfacts®:

  • Frontman Scott Hutchison explained the song's meaning to The Skinny magazine: "A jolly tune about an argument between two people as they walk home after a night out. Such arguments, particularly when alcohol is involved, can be utterly devoid of logic and this song takes place at the point where one half just gives in and says, "Look, maybe I was a prick and maybe you were a wee bit reactionary, but we are definitely both drunk and this will not solve itself now. Please can we go to sleep."
  • An EP with this song as the title track was released on June 4, 2013. The extended play disc also contained an alternative version of "Late March" alongside "The Architect," a collaboration with Manchester Orchestra.
  • A tour video was released for the song, which was filmed during the band's May 2013 visit to Australia.
