Songfacts®:

  • "You're My Texas" is a heartfelt ballad released as a single by Gabby Barrett on January 5, 2024. It's a bona fide love letter to her husband, Cade Foehner, a Texas native, and paints a vivid picture of their love story through the lens of the Lone Star State.

The Pennsylvania-raised singer draws imagery from the Texas landscape to describe her love for Cade. "Steady as a sunset, strong as a pine" - he is her home away from home and everything she needs.
  • Barrett's preceding single, "Cowboy Back," also uses Foehner's Texas background to pay homage. On that song she tips her hat to her hardworking southern gentleman.
  • Gabby Barrett co-wrote the song alongside Miranda Lambert and Hillary Lindsey. Longview, Texas, native Lambert drew inspiration from her appreciation for her home state.
  • Barrett co-produced "You're My Texas" with her regular production partner, Ross Copperman. Together, they crafted a sound with a tender and romantic melody sprinkled with delicate drumbeats and an electric guitar solo by Nashville session musician Danny Rader.
