Songfacts®:

  • After coming out of the gate in 1993 with the UK #1 hit "Dreams," Gabrielle won the BRIT Award for Best Newcomer and faced huge expectations for her second album. She wrote "Give Me Just A Little More Time" to address critics who said she would be a flash in the pan. As she did with "Dreams," she framed it as a relationship song, this time singing from the perspective of a woman whose friend wants to become her lover. The song answered her critics quite effectively; released as the first single from her second album, it climbed to #5 in the UK.
  • This was produced and co-written by The Boilerhouse Boys, who are Andy Dean and Ben Wolff. Gabrielle wrote the lyric.
