  • In the documentary When Corden Met Barlow, Gary Barlow explained that this song is about his daughter Poppy, who was stillborn in 2012. "It keeps a life and a flame in the whole thing," he said. "It should be a celebration that song, because in some respects, it's alive that record and those lyrics and what it relates to."
  • The first single from Since I Saw You Last - Barlow's first full length solo album in 14 years - this acoustic guitar driven track was influenced by Johnny Cash. "I've always liked folky, acoustic music but I've never fully explored it. I turned back time and was listening to Johnny Cash and early Elton John before I wrote 'Let Me Go,'" Barlow told The Sun. "I'm 42, I don't want to do urban or dance music."
  • The video was directed by "Sing" collaborator Ben Winston in New York and sees Barlow wheeling a piano around the streets of the Big Apple.
  • The song featured in a Compare the Market commercial. It found Barlow performing the song alongside CGI meerkats on Coronation Street's famous cobbles. The ad was commissioned to mark the first anniversary of the company sponsoring the ITV soap.
