Songfacts®:

  • "Song Of A Sad Man" was written by blind songwriter Geoff Long. In an impromptu interview with this website on March 23, 2010 - in his local supermarket! - he said he wrote it in or about 1970. Because of the passage of four decades he couldn't remember much about it, only that at the time he was in love. And she wasn't. Which is all the explanation this sad song by a sad man really needs. In June 2004, it found its way onto his After The Party CD, which was recorded at The Roundel Studios. Like the rest of the album it was "Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Roger Cotton." >>>
