Songfacts®:

  • Running 8:07, this instrumental jam features Eric Clapton on guitar. "Jeep" was the name of Clapton's dog, a Weimaraner that was rumored to have gone missing around this time (details of anything Eric Clapton-related in 1970 are sketchy).
  • All Things Must Pass was George Harrison's first solo album after The Beatles broke up. "I Remember Jeep" is part of the last disc of the triple album, which is comprised jam sessions. Along with Harrison and Clapton, Klaus Voormann (bass); Billy Preston (organ); and Clapton's Cream bandmate Ginger Baker (drums) played on it.

After the session, Clapton teamed up to form Derek & the Dominos with three other guys who played on the album: Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon. Jeep the dog appears in a publicity photo of the band that was used on the "Layla" sleeve.

  • Wanda Wakal from Tappan New. YorkI have listened to the All Things Must Pass Album since I was a teenager. However, this is the first time I remember hearing “I remember Jeep.” What a wonderful blues jazz inspired song. It would make a great soundtrack for a film or video
  • Jack from North CarolinaI become 80 this year --- George's music is a blessing for this pandemic time.
