  • According to Mark White in You Must Remember This... Popular Songwriters 1900-1980, R.P. Weston's first published song was "Boys Of The Chelsea School." David Day of Francis, Day And Hunter told him "If you've got any more like this I'll have them." He had, and Day did.
  • The sheet music is credited to Frank W. Carter and R.P. Weston, sung by George Leyton, and T.B. Harms of New York as well as the London firm, copyright 1902. Retailing in Britain for two shillings, it was dedicated, by special permission, to the Commandant of York's School, Chelsea. According to John MacKenzie in his book Popular Imperialism And The Military: 1850-1950, Leyton used the song as a fundraiser for veterans while on tour. >>>
