Songfacts®:

  • This stripped down Pat McLaughlin and Casey Beathard penned tune finds Strait singing about all the emotions that love can make you feel. The veteran singer said the song was the perfect title for his 28th studio album. "If you don't have love, what do you have? I don't care if you have love for your wife, your husband, your children, your dogs or horses, golf clubs, you know, love is what makes the world go 'round," said Strait. "It says a lot of things about what you do out of love, and you do 'em, not because you have to, but because you want to."
