Songfacts®:

  • Georgia Barnes' father is Neil Barnes, keyboardist of the English electronic music group Leftfield. As a child, Georgia seemed set for a career in football, playing for Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal ladies youth teams. She left the beautiful game after the death of her coach and began playing the drums professionally.

Georgia's solo career took off in 2018 when her single "Started Out" became a surprise BBC Radio 1 hit and also reached the Belgian Top 40. "24 Hours" is from Seeking Thrills, her second album for indie label Domino.
  • Georgia wrote this euphoric synth-pop song after she'd spent a life-changing 24 hours in the Berghain club in Berlin. "I was sober and observing all these amazing characters and having this kind of epiphany," she explained to Apple Music.
  • If two hearts ever beat the same
    We can beat it

Georgia penned the lyric after seeing a guy and a girl find each other on the Berghain dance floor; the two clearly hadn't known each other before. "They were dancing together and it was so beautiful," said the singer. "People do that even in an age where most people find each other on dating apps."
  • The song became Georgia's first Billboard hit after charting on Dance/Electronic Songs.
