Songfacts®:

  • Gin Wigmore closes herGravel & Wine album with this song, which she penned during a time of solitude up in the Blue Mountains of Australia. She says it's "A song about singing someone's soul in through music. That when it's the right time, you'll be together, whenever that may be."

Many of her songs are rather turbulent and sometimes morbid, so Wigmore decided to close out the album with "Singin' My Soul," which she describes as a "sweet song."
  • Wigmore was listening to a lot of J.J. Cale when she wrote this song. The Oklahoma songwriter purposely stayed out of the spotlight, and his songs often reflected his free spirit. "Call Me The Breeze," popularized by Lynyrd Skynyrd, is a good example.
