Songfacts®:

  • Girls Can't Catch are a pop trio comprising Phoebe Brown, Daizy Agnew and Jess Stickley. Brown was previously one-fifth of 2007 X Factor hopefuls Hope. The three girls were talent spotted by British pop label Fascination- home to Girls Aloud and The Saturdays and were put together at the beginning of 2009. This song was their first single release.
  • The song was written by English songwriter Chris Braide whose resumé includes Clay Aiken's 2003 American chart-topper "This Is The Night" and Will Young's Ivor Novello winning UK #1 "Anything is Possible."
  • Phoebe commented in publicity materials, that this positivity anthem, "feels like our theme tune at the moment." She added: "No matter what life throws at you, you've got to keep going and go for what you believe in. And it's a bloody good tune you can't get out of your head!"
  • In the song's music video, the girls play croquet in a junkyard. Daizy told I Like Music about the shoot: "I loved the whole day, we were lucky it didn't go on all night as some videos do! Walking on rough ground in a tip in 6-inch heels holding a croquet stick while trying to sing into the camera was challenging! Apart from that, the experience and memories are priceless. I can't wait to do the next one!"
