• The Lair Of The White Worm is a Gothic horror novel by the author of Dracula, published in 1911, the year before Bram Stoker's death, and fourteen years after his best known work. In her own way, the Lady Arabella March is every bit as terrifying as the blood drinking Count. Far from being a worm, she is in fact a primaeval and deadly serpent that dwells in a pit in her house.
  
  Stoker's original book - which is also known as The Garden Of Evil - was somewhat prolix, so was edited down and re-issued in 1925. With the rise of Hammer Horror from the 1950s, and a series of Dracula films, it was only to be expected that it would eventually find its way onto the big screen. The 1988 Ken Russell film The Lair Of The White Worm featured Amanda Donohoe in the title role opposite quintessential English gentleman Hugh Grant, although for some reason Lady Arabella March was transformed into Lady Sylvia Marsh; the film was also set in a contemporary England rather than 1860 as in the original.
• Running to 3 minutes 31 seconds, the God Dethroned track was written by lead guitarist/vocalist Henri Sattler and drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek. Unfortunately, while the band are competent musicians, it is difficult for anyone with normal hearing to make out the words.
  
  Sattler is also known as The Serpent King, although he'd better stay clear of Lady Arabella! >>
