Songfacts®:

  • This song is about how every time lead singer Sully Erna goes to New Orleans (touring with Godsmack), he would get sick. Supposedly, in his previous life, Sully was killed in the city of New Orleans, and in his current life, "Evil Spirits" come and haunt him every time he visits New Orleans, making him sick and disturbed. In the fall of 2002, a few months before he and Godsmack performed at the 2003 Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans on Halloween Night, he saw a psychic that helped him understand how to fight off these spirits. This problem may explain why Godsmack doesn't go to New Orleans so often when they tour, despite the huge fan base they have in the city. >>>

  • Released as a single from Faceless, the band's first #1 album, this went to #3 on the Mainstream Rock chart and #28 on the Modern Rock chart.
  • An acoustic version was included on their 2004 EP, The Other Side.

  • Luna Loud from Royal Woods, MichiganYeah, that solo is killer. Tony should lay off the wah pedal once in a while. Poor Kirk Hammett gets flack for over using it but Tony uses it way more. It's kind of his signature sound though and he's still awesome, but he also sounds great when he doesn't use it, like in this solo. Another awesome song by the Boston 'Smackers!
  • Zero from Nowhere, NjSully plays rhythm guitar on live versions of this song.
  • Zero from Nowhere, NjThe first time I heard that guitar solo, my jaw hit the floor! Sounds great acoustic too!
  • Kayla from Oklahoma City, OkLike I said before - Jeff, Godsmack has 53 songs.
This song is great! One of my favorite Godsmack songs, to tell te truth.
  • Mark from New Orleans, LaI think it's probably some sort of sinus problem. The balmy air in New Orleans will bring out any kind of sinus issue. My brother had huge sinus issues when he lived in New Orleans. When he moved to Texas, they went away.
  • Jaxx from Manchester, Nhits cause new orleans has the good h
  • Jeff from Helena, MtHow many songs does godsmack have? Exactly
  • Jeff from Helena, Mtwhy doesnt godsmack ever come to montana?
  • Nick from Paramus, NjThat solo is one of the best Tony has done with Godsmack, and he doesn't even use the wah-wah!
