  • Alison Goldfrapp in the Sun newspaper February 15, 2008: "We've been inspired by this idea of paganism and the surreal themes in traditional English children's books. I mean, Victorians were taking loads of drugs, weren't they?"
  • Edward Lear (1812-88) was a British humorist and artist, best known for his Book of Nonsense (1846), which popularized the limerick.
