My Last Day On Earth

Album: Unbreakable (2012)

Songfacts®:

  • This song reminds us to take time out to do simple, yet meaningful tasks, such as tell our family and friends that we love them, strike up a conversation with the people that we see but ignore every day, and to appreciate the natural world around us. In our interview, Gordon Bahary said he wanted this song to provoke a reaction: "It says that every day should be my last day on earth and I purposely did that to shake people up a bit. I think about it a lot."
  • Unbreakable was Bahary's debut album, but he has been active in music since the 1970s. Bahary has worked with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis and Stevie Wonder, playing synthesizer on the latter artist's 1979 album, Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants.
