Songfacts®:

  • Gorillaz recorded this one-off single for Converse Inc.'s "3 Artists. 1 Song" campaign. It accompanies a new line of Converse sneakers designed by the band's co-creator Jamie Hewlett and the song was unveiled as a free download on Converse's official site on February 23, 2012.
  • The song features contributions from both James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, who sings the hook, and Andre 3000 of Outkast, who takes over the second half of the track with a rapid-fire rap verse. It was Murphy's first contribution since the disbanding of LCD in April 2011. "We didn't exchange any ideas at all [beforehand]," he recalled to Billboard magazine. "Damon was basically saying, 'Let's just get in a room,' which, even if it wasn't Damon Albarn, is a pretty convincing argument, really. To be honest, I was worried that I should prepare something, but went with it anyway."
  • The James Hewlett directed music video features the Gorillaz' new HQ after abandoning the Plastic Beach that they inhabited during their third studio album. We see the four members of the animated band occupying a dilapidated house along with graphic interpretations of James Murphy and Andre 3000.
