Songfacts®:

  • The opening track of Grandaddy's fifth album, Last Place, this was released as its lead single on September 9, 2016.
  • Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle told Mojo the song was inspired by "one of these terrible stores that sell, like, scented candles and bedding. I actually like a good scented candle - but if you put 30 of them in a room it's too goddamn much. And then I had to intertwine some personal elements into that."
  • Grandaddy released a music video for the song starring Jason Ritter. The actor is known for his roles as Kevin Girardi in Joan of Arcadia, Sean Walker in The Event, and the recurring role of Mark Cyr in the NBC television series Parenthood, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.
