Songfacts®:

  • This song features the former Sugababe Mutya Buena in a high profile guest vocal slot. It was initially intended to feature British singer Estelle and had the working title of "Song 4 Estelle." However, Estelle Swaray did not meet Groove Armada's requirements, so the song was given to Buena instead.
  • Groove Armada's Tom Findlay recalled the story of the Mutya Buena collaboration to NME: "It was just one of those things that happens in the studio sometimes where you realise you've written a pop song, and you think, 'well if I'm gonna go for that I might as well embrace it.' And so: who was the poppiest singer we could think of, but also a bit naughty?"

"She toured with us a bit, she was a bit naughty – she was a real handful, but fun. I liked her. She liked us, she was ok with us. But you could see her, she'd make life a nightmare for people around her sometimes. But I think she's a great singer, she's actually a brilliant singer. She really nailed it."
  • Mutya Buena recorded her vocals following her departure from Sugababes in December 2005. The lyrics were rumoured to be aimed directly at Buena's Sugababes replacement Amelle Berrabah. Such lines as "that's who has replaced me, what a dis," gave credence to the interpretation although Buena herself has denied such allegations.
