Songfacts®:

  • The Hip-Hop producer Mike WiLL Made It (Juicy J's "Bandz A Make Her Dance," Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop") was born Michael Len Williams II in Marietta, Georgia. Williams dropped out of high school to focus on becoming a music producer. After introducing himself to Gucci Mane at Atlanta's PatchWerk Recording Studios and giving him a CD of instrumentals, Williams got his first placements with a major artist when the rapper decided to use some of his material. The young producer took his moniker from a lyric on this cut from Gucci's 2007 mixtape Guapaholics: "Mike Will made it. Gucci Mane slayed it."
