Songfacts®:

  • Gunna's first solo single since his successful joint mixtape with Lil Baby, Drip Harder, finds him flaunting his victories.

The same ones that thought I was shy
I took off and went straight to the top

Gunna also boasts about his riches and "drip," highlighting his expensive clothing and jewelry.

    Designer head to toe
I sip to the head and float

The Atlanta rapper invokes a lot of "watery" wordplay in his raps and record titles. (This track is featured on the second of his Drip or Drown EPs).
  • The Spike Jordan-directed music video adds to Gunna's partiality for aquatic images by placing him underwater with some beautiful female swimmers.
  • The song originated with the beat. After Turbo played Gunna his soundscape, they laid down the track together at Five Star studios in Atlanta.
  • The "One Call" title was the producer's idea. Gunna explained to Genius. "Turbo named it just trying to hurry up and name the song, and I just kept it that way."
