Songfacts®:

  • This song was written by Stefani with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, of Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and Selena Gomez's "Hands To Myself" fame. It was produced by the Swedish duo of Mattman and Robin. The same quartet also worked with the No Doubt singer on "Make Me Like You" and "Truth."
  • The song captures the highs and lows of a new relationship infatuation as Stefani urges a lover to relieve her of her lovesickness. It's one of several This Is What the Truth Feels Like tracks penned by Stefani about her relationship with Blake Shelton. "It's really the first time I've written a record about being happy," the singer told USA Today.
  • Stefani performed the song for the first time on March 17, 2016 during a special private concert for MasterCard users in Japan.
