Songfacts®:

  • The third single from American Alternative Hip-Hop band Gym Class Heroes' fourth album, The Papercut Chronicles II features the voice of Neon Hitch. The British singer-songwriter also co-wrote Kesha's hit single "Blah Blah Blah" and 3Oh!3's contribution to the Almost Alice soundtrack, "Follow Me Down."
  • Benny Blanco, who also helmed Gym Class Heroes' hit single "Stereo Hearts," produced the song. Blanco had several hits on his CV by this time but over the next few decades added many more, including some with Selena Gomez, whom he married in 2025.
  • Fun Fact: Neon Hitch was once Amy Winehouse's roommate.
  • The song details the difficulties a touring musician has of maintaining a relationship when they're away from home so much. Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy said of Neon Hitch's contribution to MTV News: "I think if anybody gets the song and as far as the message of the song and what the song's about, it'd be her, because she's kind of in the midst of all this. Not only did she go above and beyond the call of duty as far as singing it, but it's something that she can totally relate to, so it's perfect."
  • The song's music video stars McCoy as a musician on the road and Neon Hitch as his long-distance lover. McCoy explained its concept to MTV News. "It's us on the road and it's shot really gritty," he said. "So it kind of gives people a behind-the-scenes at what it's like to be on the road, traveling non-stop and also that tension, that struggle of trying to keep a relationship afloat."
