  • Speaking with Radio.com, Leithauser admitted that he is "obsessive" and often wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about how he can make a song better. "Sometimes I can't stop thinking about songs, and it will make me feel crazy," he said.

This song is a case in point as Leithauser spent nearly a year working on the tune, trying to get it just right. "I couldn't sleep, but I couldn't finish it. It made me crazy," he said. "Usually 99 percent of the time with songs like that, you lose the fight [and] it never comes out, but not this time."
