Songfacts®:

  • This song is from Hayden's live CD recorded in the convocation hall in Toronto. Here's what he said: "This is a story about my cat, his name is Woody. Every spring Woody, who is a bit of a troubled cat... his mom was a whore. Would a cat be called a whore? Anyways. So woody was part of this cat's 18th litter or something. So all of his brothers and sisters had birth defects, which isn't funny obviously. So Woody's brother had like a deformed tail and Woody has a hole in his heart. Which sucks because he's just living on borrowed time as they say. I love him but every year he runs away at about spring time in early may. He leaves and comes back like 3 days later and he kind of stumbles into the house and he's all dirty and his eyes are bloodshot and he stinks like whiskey. He's obviously been up to no good, but what can I do. This week I'm gonna sit him down and tell him he's neutered, because I don't think he knows." >>>
