Songfacts®:

  • In February 2006 Zac Efron and Andrew Seeley made chart history when they became the first artists ever to debut with 2 songs simultaneously on Billboard's Hot 100. "Breaking Free" by Efron and Seeley together with Vanessa Anne Hudgens, entered at #86 and "Get'cha Head in the Game," by the duo at #100. Both songs were from the High School Musical soundtrack. A week later Ashley Tisdale became the first female to achieve the same feat with another 2 songs from the same soundtrack.
  • Andrew Seeley wasn't originally credited for this, despite his voice being heavily mixed with Efron's.
  • "Breaking Free" leapt from #86 to #4 in its second week in the Top 100 in February 2006, breaking the record for the biggest move in Hot 100 history. In October 2006, Akon's "Smack That" surpassed its 82-position jump by leaping 88 places from #95 to #7.
  • The High School Musical soundtrack was the top-selling album of 2006. It also holds the Guinness World Record for most successful songs from a single soundtrack.
