Songfacts®:

  • This was originally recorded in Turkish by the Turkish pop star Tarkan. The Turkish hit was called Simiark ("Spoilt") and it reached the Top 3 in several European countries. In the Turkish version, the chorus ends with two kiss sounds. Holly Valance's version has the same instrumentation, but the lyrics are in English.
  • Holly Valance (real name: Vukadinovi) is an Australian actress who played Felicity "Flick" Scully in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, which also gave us Kylie Minogue. Valance is related to the British comedian Benny Hill - Hill's cousin was her grandfather.

  • Shel from LondonThis song is originally performed by Tarkan -( huge Turkish pop star) written by Sezen Aksu (another huge Turkish pop icon). Holly Valance heard the Turkish song and because she liked it so much, she wanted to do an English version. Hence Kiss Kiss. If it wasn’t for the original there would never have been a Holly Valance version or any other version in any other language for that matter :)
  • James from Casa Grande Az.Actually The 2001 version is by Stella Soloeil, Holly Vance version was released in 2002.
  • Gokhan Tunc from IstanbulGuys, guys, please DO NOT comment if you are not sure about the facts. This song INDEED is A COVER. Because the original versions which is "Simarik" written by Sezen Aksu (Tukish Pop Diva) in 1996 and sang by Tarkan (Turkish Pop King) same year in his "Olurum Sana" album. Then after 5 years in 2001, Holly covered it with English lyrics. I'm Turkish from Istanbul, Turkey.
  • Mjn Seifer from Not Listed For Personal Reason, United KingdomFirst of all - I posted my previous comment when I used to LIE a lot. Holly never wrote a song for Tarkan to sing, Tarkan's song DID come first. They are both great songs - I'd never heard Tarkan's version 'til recently.

Also; this isn't really a cover, cause a cover is the same song - the lyrics are completely different,in "Simark" they don't translate to this.
  • Uzair from Bangalore, Indiai likede voice n de song
  • Mjn Seifer from Not Listed For Personal Reason, EnglandWhat it is is that Holly made the song FOR Tarkan, who sang it first, but then Holly became a singer so she sang it - It looked like a cover that way.
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesBut Holly Valance actually admitted that her version was a cover and Tarkan's was the original. Also Tarkan's version came out a year earlier, so this is a cover version
  • Mjn Seifer from Not Listed For Personal Reason, EnglandActually this isn't a cover.

Holly actually made the song in English and Tarkan covered it in turkish and this is prooved because the Taran verion credits Holly Valance as the Original writer.
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesI prefer Tarkan's original version, but this isn't a bad cover
