• Flipper was a 1960s American children's TV series featuring an heroic dolphin. The series was based on a film, and there has been a more recent series and film. The music for the theme song was written by the popular composer Henry Vars (1902-77), and the words by William D. Dunham (known as By Dunham). Vars was an immigrant; Dunham was born in New York City in 1910, and died in Los Angeles in 2001. They collaborated on a number of songs.
• The British Library, the national library of Britain, holds two different printings of the sheet music, published in 1963 and 1964. They are the same song but the 1963 version has three verses; the 1964 version has four. The music is copyright MGM, and retailed for 60c. >>>
