Songfacts®:

  • "Gotta Let Go" reveals a more melodic side of the Hollywood Undead quintet. While the song is more upbeat and stripped down than the rap rockers' usual material, it remains uniquely Undead.

"At times when we look at the past, we only see the struggles and the hardships," said vocalist and bassist Johnny 3 Tears. "We too often forget about the good moments because we are blinded by the pain we all go through. This song is about letting go of that pain, so we can see that life can be a beautiful experience."
  • The music video combines Hollywood Undead performing the song with shots of the final moments of a character's life, including a surreal encounter in outer space where he learns to finally let go of the past.

"We wanted the 'Gotta Let Go' video to be a visceral experience about letting go of something we all have to part with in the end," Johnny 3 Tears explained. "Our mortality is what gives life its defining purpose. It's our greatest gift and our greatest cross to bear. We wanted to capture that delicate legacy in our own way, and this video was our interpretation of life... and its inevitable ending."
