This was originally released as a song entitled "Out The Way." It not known why this revised version was re-titled.
The synthesiser riff was borrowed from Ozzy Osbourne's debut single as a solo artist, "Crazy Train."
The song was featured in commercials for the live action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
This song was produced by Danny Lohner who is best known for his work with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. Lohner also helped produce "Sell Your Soul."
Johnny 3 Tears of Hollywood Undead explained the album title to Artist Direct: "We came up with Swan Songs because there's an irony to it. A swan song is supposed to be the last noise a swan makes before it dies. Even though it's our first record, I thought that it would be cool because of the irony of it. In all honesty, I never know what's going to happen with us, so I thought it was a fitting title. It's very complete, representing the lifespan of something. If we never made another record again, I think we would've done something that most bands haven't done; even though it's only a 14-track record, but it covers a lifetime."

Bailey from Keene, NhHollywood Undead was and kind of still are a MySpace band. They would have released Swan Songs much earlier if not for MySpace Records trying to censor the album. Since it was going to be censored, they decided to quit and find a new label. They eventually found A&M/Octone (The same label as Flyleaf. Possible collab in the future? I hope so) who made a deal not to censor the album. They wrote Undead while looking for a new label about Punk-Ass Bitches who dis them. Listen to what they're actually saying and you'll see. "Y'know we don't give a f--k what you think and say..."

Daniel from Winchester, OhI forgot to say something else. If this song was truly written by Trent Renzor, why didn't Nine Inch Nails perform this song!? All of Hollywood Undead's music is preppy metal and very annoying, while Nine Inch Nails have a traditional style of rock which anybody can listen to. They need to stop stealing songs from better rock groups. Idiots.
