  • New York native Hope was born into a musical family, her mother frequented the Apollo Theater and her father was the Musical Director of the original 1970s production of Hair on Broadway. Though her parents discouraged listening to popular radio, they encouraged their daughter to sing and enrolled her in piano lessons. She found herself infatuated with the songs of Sade, Mariah Carey, Phil Collins and many others, who she'd listen to in secret. Hope studied their songs and developed a true love of pop music.
After graduating high school, Hope moved to Los Angeles with one suitcase and forty dollars. She quickly developed a massive loyal following by singing and selling copies of her independent CD, produced by herself and her brother Christian, titled Rain=Flowers=Love=Poetry. Choosing the grassroots approach, Hope became a regular performer at Santa Monica's popular Third Street Promenade and the Venice Beach Boardwalk. This island-inflected tune is Hope's first single that she released after signing with Atlantic Records.
  • This bubbly tune came about towards the end of the recording process for Hope's self-titled debut album with Atlantic. She told the story of the song in an interview with Artist Direct: "[Producer] Michael Blue and I sat down in the studio and we were talking about the record. I had some ideas for us bringing in a song that was a little more carefree that people could listen to and just enjoy without having to think too hard. We sat down with our guitars and wrote 'Love Love Love' right there. We probably finished it in about an hour or so. We did a demo of it, came back in the studio the next day and finished it up."
  • Hope explained the song's meaning to Artist Direct: "The lyrics to the song are about that feeling of loving or liking someone so much that you don't know what to do with yourself [Laughs]. It's just that moment. I compare it to the music. Being in this process of finishing up my first major label record, I'm incredibly happy to be able to get this music out. I'm literally out of my skin. I'm totally excited and in love with this point in time and this process with the music. It's a happy, carefree feeling."
  • Hope teamed up with Jason Mraz for this tune. She told Artist Direct how she hooked up with the "I'm Yours" star: "I got a random call that he could possibly be featured on the song. I was super excited! I found out Michael Blue had played the song for him, and he really loved it. They discussed him being featured on it, and he said, 'Yes!' He actually recorded his part separately, but I was like, 'This is perfect' once I heard the final mix. I'm a huge fan of his. I'm completely happy."
