Songfacts®:

  • Hunter Hayes penned this song with Texan songwriter Jon Nite (Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert's "We Were Us," Jake Owen's "Beachin'") and Emily Weisband (Natalie Grant's "Be One," Hillary Scott & The Scott Family's "Thy Will"). The tune featured in the computer animated movie Monster Trucks. Hayes said:

"You never know where a song will take you or how it might affect somebody, and while we work on finishing the new album and putting out more songs, it's really cool to have this one I wrote a while back come to life with a film and be able to share it in its own unique way."
  • Hunter Hayes has been on a film soundtrack before. Back in 2011 he covered "Almost Paradise" with Victoria Justice for the 2011 Footloose reboot. However, this is the first time an original song that he wrote for a movie, ended up in the movie.
  • Though the movie may be targeted toward a younger audience, Hayes told ABC Radio his song contains a message relevant for all ages.

"For me, the message is - the chorus says, 'Every mile, every inch of this ground, and every dream, run it down, cause it's waiting for you,' right? And it's kind of the whole world is there for the taking, you know? Dream big, explore, see it all, do it all, do not be afraid kind of thing," he said.

"And that's what 'All for You' means to me and I hope that whoever hears it can kinda take their own meaning from it."
