Songfacts®:

  • "Proof" is one of five singles from the Manchester band I Am Kloot's self-titled second album. However, only four of those singles saw official release, with "Proof" remaining as the download-only release.
It could be that they decided to go for Internet distribution for this song because it invites online listening, and then you discover the charming YouTube video. The video stars British actor Christopher Eccleston as The Face - literally, it's just him and his handsome mug acting his heart out at such close-up focus, it's almost like he's going to peek right out of the screen and kiss you. Notice that every facial movement, including swallowing and eye blinks, is synched to the music.
  • I Am Kloot reached #68 on the UK albums chart. That's their highest-charting album out of their first five, until Sky At Night.
  • A demo version of "Proof" also appeared as the B-side to the "Morning Rain" single released in 2001.
