Songfacts®:

  • Illit, a name that sounds like a super cute sneeze, are a K-pop girl group birthed from the JTBC 2023 survival competition show R U Next? They're the first girl group under the Hybe sub-label Belift Lab.

Even before they debuted, Illit was already serving major looks. They landed a campaign with fashion brand Acne Studios, meaning they were chilling front row at Paris Fashion Week before we even knew their names. Can you imagine swapping bubblegum for baguettes and whispering secrets about your crush with your BFFs at PFW? Talk about squad goals!

Belift Lab released their debut EP Super Real Me on March 25, 2024. This bubbly dance-pop song with elements of pluggnb and house was released as the EP's lead single.
  • The song is all about the heady, can't-eat-can't-sleep frenzy of a new crush. It's like your heart is a giant magnet pulling you towards this amazing guy!
  • The music video finds the girls serving fierce dance moves, running around in the most stylish outfits ever, and batting their eyelashes at mysterious texts. But guess what? They're having a blast without their crush even there! Who needs a floppy-haired boy when you have your besties and a killer song to soundtrack your life?
  • "Magnetic" was primarily written and produced by Big Hit Music founder Bang Si-hyuk, Slow Rabbit, and Martin. Salem Ilese, Danke, Vincenzo, Lee Yi-jin, Piri, Lauren Amber Aquilina, Marcus Andersson, Kim Kiwi all helped with the writing.
  • "Magnetic" arrived on the Hot 100 at the #91 spot, the first debut song by a K-pop act to land on the tally. The song also topped the charts in several Asian countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore. Belift Lab credits the single's success to its relatable portrayal of teenage girls.
