Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap's third studio album, Ellipse.
  • This angelic and atmospheric song was written by Heap in Hawaii during an extended round the world writing trip. The day before the singer-songwriter left, she got an e-mail from the film director Zach Braff (Garden State), asking if she could write something for his next movie. Heap wrote this song on her first day in Hawaii. Braff loved it, but Heap told Sunday Times August 16, 2009, "the film never happened. Instead, he started work on another film... called Wait It Out, actually." She added: "It will come out too late for me to have the song in it. I want the song on this album." Rather than being annoyed at the erratic ways of the film industry, Heap is simply grateful that Braff's commission kick-started her writing process for Ellipse.
  • Heap performed this song for the first time at the Pop!Tech conference in Camden, Maine in October 2008.
