Songfacts®:

  • This is the song on A Moment of Madness that Izzy Bizu is most proud of writing. She explained to Artist Direct: "It's the most honest song I wrote and it's about the parts of me I'm not proud of, it helped me a lot with self-growth."
  • The song was recorded for Izzy Bizu's debut album A Moment of Madness, which was released on September 2, 2016. The songstress had come up with the record title about a year previously. She explained to HMV.com: "I was going through a time where I couldn't handle my emotions and it sums up that time, it's all okay now, but it's nice to bookend it with this album."
  • Whenever Izzy Bizu performs this song she finds herself returning to the same emotion that she is singing about here. The songstress explained to Billboard magazine:

"It's crazy. It doesn't matter how much I try to get away from that because it's kind of hard let go of that stuff, you know what I'm saying? I always end up there. It is one of the saddest songs I've written. It's probably one of the most insecure moments and I feel like I really overcome that, but that was a part of who I am and who I was. It's quite a spiritual moment for me as well - sort of asking this extra energy to forgive your insecurities in a weird way. It's like you're pleading with some sort of spirit to get out of you and let you have a clean slate, I guess?"
