Songfacts®:

  • "Bouff" is a slang term used in J Hus' neck of the woods, which means money. He explained this song to i-D:

"Whenever I go back to my area, everyone calls me the bouff man, or the bouff daddy. It's the nickname my friends gave me, and it stuck and I saw that it could make a sick tune. A lot of the words I use, a lot of people might not know what they mean, so you have to listen to the music to catch on, to work it out. To me, it's normal; it's just how we've always spoken in east London."
