Songfacts®:

  • On this song, Jack speaks in Italian (oi lienda, bella che fa?) then in Spanish (bonita, bonita que tal?) then in French (belle, Je ne comprends pas francais) then, of course, in English (So you'll have to speak to me some other way!). >>>

  • This one is not to be taken seriously - Johnson refers to it "a joke." Said Johnson: "My wife speaks a little bit of French. We went traveling around Europe together years ago. It's probably the oldest song I have. I kind of learned these bossa nova chords. And I was joking with her, basically saying, 'Hey beautiful' in a lot of different languages and then said, 'Je ne comprend pas francais,' which is 'I don't understand' in French, 'So you'll have to speak to me some other way.' I toyed around with that in the studio and ended up liking it and put it on the record."

  • Joe from Swindon, EnglandMight be inspired a bit by 'Belo Horizonte' by Earth Wind and Fire, same guitar style and the titles are slightly similar too...
  • Cedric from Weyburn, SkI would be very surprised if Johnson didn't get the idea for this song from "Michelle" because the reason behind the lyrics are very similiar. Also, he kinda took a Beatles idea and used four languages in one song (Sun King = English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese).
  • William from Auburn, AlSimilar to The Beatles "Michelle"
