Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Jack Johnson's longtime friend, Ben Harper, providing guest vocals and playing guitar. Johnson recalled to Radio.com: "He came into the studio and recorded that song with us,. He really got into it and he sang along. He sang the harmony of the song and played some Weissenborn slide guitar. That was really neat, to think that we've known each other for almost 15 years now."

Johnson added there have been many changes in each singer's life since they first met and he's grateful they've remained friends. "It was really nice to have him on that song," he said, "with the chorus about, 'All these changes. Different stages. It gets stranger day by day.'"
