  It pretty much always means no' means that he probably wont cause 'maybe' normally means no. i reckon the poor man is beating himself up a bit. Hes a great guy though. well hes music is awesome.

In the first couple lines he says "I know she says its alright, you can make it up next time." I think meaning he flaked out and hes going to make it up but never can because hes a flake? Reading the lyrics, looks like its a about a relationship that he will not get into because he doesn't want something to happen? Anyone care to elaborate, correct or add?
• Stef from Chicago, IlA flake is a person who is an airhead or someone who doesn't really know anything or is out of the loop. I think in his lyrics "I know she said it's alright"- to the part where he sings, "It seems to me that maybe, just pretty much always means no, so don't tell me you might just let it go" if the reference to the flake. He's describing a girl who doesn't really make up her mind and is sort of just there floating around. Like a space cadet.
