Songfacts®:

  • After being told that he didn't write enough happy songs, the British singer-songwriter decided to give it a shot with this track (co-written by London-based producer Tim Ross) in which he encourages lovelorn listeners to be patient: there's someone out there for everyone. He explained in the track-by-track commentary for his self-titled album: "The idea of there being someone for everyone is quite a beautiful, romantic thought, so that's my attempt [to write a happy song]. I don't know if I succeeded or not."
  • Engineer/mixer Ruadhri Cushnan (Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran) plays guitar and percussion on this track and on "Cold In Ohio" and "Ahead Of Myself."
