  • This song finds Kramer singing about dodging a bullet, as she's gotten out of an unpleasant relationship. She told Billboard magazine that the influence to write the track was an intently personal one. "I was in a therapy appointment and we were talking about a relationship being over and she said, 'You know what? You dodged a bullet.' I thought I needed to write that down, as I had a writing appointment immediately following it," Kramer recalled.
  • The song was co-written by Marti Frederiksen, who produces Aerosmith. It features the veteran rock band's frontman Steven Tyler on harmony. Tyler is no stranger to the country music scene, having appeared at several country music awards shows and sang with Carrie Underwood on "What Could Have Been Love," a track from Aerosmith's Music from Another Dimension!. "I heard the song and went, 'Send me the track!'" he recalled to Rolling Stone Country. "So she sent me the files, and I went, 'Can I sing on that?' So I sang every part she had. It's a really cool track."

The Aerosmith singer added that performing a country song really isn't that much of a stretch for him. "I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire … I have more country in me than people think," he explained. "Aerosmith always crossed the line, whether it was with 'Dream On' or 'Train Kept A-Rollin'',' or even 'Walk This Way' with Run-D.M.C."
