• This Alyssa Bonagura, Brandon Hood and Jeffrey Steele penned tune was released as the fourth single from Jana Kramer's Thirty One album. "'Circles' is a really cool song," Kramer told IHeartRadio. "It's about that love that's just so deep and unbreakable, and that person in that song has fixed your heart that was broken before. And just, again, having that unbreakable bond."
• The song has become the story of Jana Kramer's life, following her marriage to former NFL tight end Mike Caussin on May 22, 2015. "[It] has become such a personal song to me," she revealed. "The lyrics talk about piecing together a broken heart and… when I first heard the demo, that's what I wanted to find."
  
  "The funny thing is I had just started talking to my now husband and I wondered if maybe this would end up being about him," Kramer added. "Now it's my song for him… to say no matter what, we're doing this, it's you and me. That the ring he gave me is not just a ring, but means so much more. He has truly pieced together my broken parts."
• Co-writer Alyssa Bonagura told The Boot how her own new relationship helped inspire the song.
  
  "We had this groove of writing pretty much every week — like, whenever we had a day free, we would write - so I walked into this writing session with a brand-new boyfriend and, like, new love and all this stuff. And I was so in love - and I'm still in love, really in love … and I walked into this room, and Brandon had this 'do do do do do' sound, like a circle, and Jeffrey yelled out 'Circles, right?' And I was like, 'Oh my god, yes,' and so we took it to the, you know, how everything is a circle, to the ring on your finger when you get married, to the beginning and the end of, like, 'where I end is where you begin' - that's a lyric in the song. And so it really was just a love story of completing the circle, you know?"
• Bonagura originally earmarked the song for her own Road Less Travelled album. She recalled "We cut it … but [Kramer] called and wanted to cut it … and I kinda said I was saving it for my project, and then she called again, and I was like, 'You know, I'd love for you to cut it.' And it was great; it worked out perfect."
