Songfacts®:

  • Wiedlin is a guitarist with The Go-Go's, and she wrote this with fellow Go-Go guitarist Charlotte Caffey. Says Wiedlin: "The song 'Icicle,' I just still really, really love. And I really, really love the production and the arrangement and stuff that we did on it. That song was about someone just using numbness as their way to protect themselves. Of course, I can totally relate too. It was about me. But I think a lot of people do it, so I was hoping it would be universal." (Check out our interview with Jane Wiedlin.
