Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean Artistfacts

  • February 28, 1977
  • Jason Aldean was born Jason Aldine Williams in Macon, Georgia. He thought "Jason Williams" was too plain, so he adopted a variation of his middle name for his stage surname.
  • Aldean made his stage debut at a local VFW hall when he was 14, where he performed John Anderson's "Seminole Wind" and Tracy Lawrence's "Sticks and Stones" for a group of ten people.
  • Aldean's life became tabloid fodder in 2012 when the media caught wind of the married singer's liaison with American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr. Aldean and Kerr officially became an item and tied the knot in an intimate evening wedding ceremony on March 21, 2015 in Mexico.
  • Aldean made his acting debut in Sweetwater (also known as Sweet Vengeance), a 2013 western thriller starring Ed Harris and January Jones.
  • The singer's dad taught him how to play guitar by mapping out guitar chords on notebook paper.
  • Aldean earned his first #1 Country hit with "Why," the second single from his self-titled debut album. The song, co-written by Big and Rich's John Rich, also peaked at #43 on the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Jason Aldean has worn his signature palm-leaf cowboy hat with brown detailing since the early 2000s. He told Audacy's Katie Neal that when he bought his headgear he had little money so he went to a Western store and bought the cheapest hat they had, setting him back about $40. Aldean said it was like a straw hat with a brown band around it; he chose it because he hadn't seen anyone else wear a hat like that.
  • Jason Aldean didn't just make music in 2023, he dominated Google searches. His contentious song "Try That In a Small Town" became the year's most-searched tune, a fitting echo of the firestorm it ignited. Not to be outdone, Aldean himself claimed the top spot on their top trending musician list, proving his ability to stir both conversation and clicks.
  • Back in 2005, on his first tour, Jason Aldean's rider was refreshingly simple: just Crown Royal Canadian whisky and cigarettes. Since he quit smoking in 2014, whisky is still on his rider but you're more likely to find a bottle of his own bourbon, Wolf Moon.
